'CHANGE FOR LIFE' BABY BOTTLES
Drop your loose change in a baby bottle provided by Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center (CNPRC) and participate in the “Change for Life” Baby Bottle Opportunity. You may pick up bottles in the foyer today. CNPRC provides love, spiritual and practical assistance for women and their families during in an unplanned pregnancy. We will collect the bottles on Sunday, Sept. 5.
Back to School Supplies
We are collecting back-to-school supplies for needy children in our community. A box clearly marked “School Supplies” is located near the Welcome Table for your donations. When out shopping, pick up a few extra school supplies. Your help in this project will make a difference in a life of a child who might otherwise be unable to have everything he or she needs to get a good education.
National Back to Church Sunday
HMBC will join hundred of churches across the country for “National Back to Church Sunday” on September 12. How many people do you know who “used to go” to church, but just don’t anymore? If you are like most Americans, you know quite a few. According to the book American Church in Crisis by David T. Olson, “Most Americans have been to church, and yet only 20 percent are regular attendees.” Dr. Gary L. McIntosh from the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University estimates “more than 76 million people have attended church at least once in their lifetime.” Clearly, most people who do not currently attend church did attend at one time. Many of these people might be willing to try church again, given the right opportunity. On Back to Church Sunday, churches across the country will be opening their doors and welcoming visitors to their church—and HMBC will be one of them! Pray now about whom to invite!
